[Comparison] Intel Core i5-1135G7 vs Core i5-1035G7 – the Ice Lake is starting to melt
Today we have the recently released Intel Core i5-1135G7 versus its older brother – Intel Core i5-1035G7. The new one is part of the Tiger Lake line of processors. This is the newest line of mobile CPUs that Intel has to offer and we are excited to see how it performs compared to the older generation.
Respectively, the Core i5-1035G7 is part of the older Ice Lake generation. It was launched in August of 2019 and we are going to see how it compares against its newer counterpart.

CPU Benchmarks
The Cinebench R15 benchmark shows some glimpses of hope, as the newer Core i5-1135G7 outperforms the older i5-1035G7 by 13% in Cinebench 15 and was half a second faster in Photoshop.
Results are from the Cinebench 20 CPU test (the higher the score, the better)
Results are from our Photoshop benchmark test (the lower the score, the better)
GPU Benchmarks
As for the graphics part of the comparison, the older Iris Plus Graphics performed overall better than the newer Iris Xe Graphics G7. To go into detail, it was 7%, 18%, and 14% better in 3DMark Fire Strike, Unigine Heaven 4.0, and Unigine Superposition respectively.
Results are from the 3DMark: Time Spy (Graphics) benchmark (higher the score, the better)
Results are from the 3DMark: Fire Strike (Graphics) benchmark (higher the score, the better)
Results are from the Unigine Superposition benchmark (higher the score, the better)
Conclusion
Overall, the newest Core i5-1135G7 is better than its predecessor and it offers more raw power. However, this raw power is not something to behold as we saw only a 13% increase in 3D Rendering and half a second lead in Photoshop. As for the iGPUs, here the older Iris Plus Graphics prevailed, being 13% better on average across all of our tests.
