[Comparison] Intel Core i7-1195G7 vs AMD Ryzen 7 5700U – Zen 2 is still relevant
Today we see just how good the old Zen 2 architecture was against the most powerful ULV chip that Intel has in its arsenal. The Core i7-1195G7 is a beefed-up version of the regular i7-1195G7, sporting the same core and thread count, but with increased base and boost speeds.
Going against it is an impostor of a CPU, with the Ryzen 7 5700U, which runs on the older Zen 2 architecture, despite bearing the 5000-series nameplate. We will also be comparing the onboard graphics, to see how Vega stacks up to the Iris Xe Graphics.
Today we are comparing the Intel Core i7-1195G7 against the AMD Ryzen 7 5700U.

Conclusion
The Zen 2 CPUs still have a lot of fight left in them, even with the improvements that Zen 3 and Tiger Lake brought to the table. They can be great value for the money if you don’t care about the latest features or advancements. Even against the newer Tiger Lake chip, the Ryzen 7 5700U proved itself to be very capable in both 3D and 2D Rendering. On the other hand, the integrated graphics inside the Intel CPUs have come a long way and are better for productivity and low-end gaming than the Vega offerings from AMD. That is why we are expecting big things from the RDNA 2-based iGPUs from the Ryzen 6000-series.
