[Comparison] Intel Core i7-1280P vs AMD Ryzen 7 5800H – stacking wins like it’s nothing

The Ryzen 7 5800H is an interesting CPU. Despite carrying a 45W power limit, its efficiency was very good, sparing as much battery life as possible, while also performing like a champ in heavy workloads. Today we have the Core i7-1280P, which has already climbed very high in our Top Laptop CPU Ranking. However, it is not satisfied with that, s it wants more victories under its belt. It already showed superior performance to other CPUs from Intel, but now it feels like it’s time for it to go against proper Team Red competition.

Today we are comparing the Intel Core i7-1280P against the AMD Ryzen 7 5800H.

You can take a look at our Top Laptop CPU Ranking, where we showcase the best and the newest laptop processors.

Even the Ryzen 7 5800H isn’t enough, as the Core i7 shows 7% increased performance in 3D Rendering, while also being a second faster in Photoshop.

Results are from the Cinebench R23 CPU test (the higher the score, the better)

    Conclusion

Well, it looks like even a 45W Ryzen 7 can’t handle the 28W Core i7, so we have to give it to Intel for the development of their Alder Lake architecture. We also have AMD to thank for it, since it is the Ryzen 4000 and 5000-series that pushed Intel to that new level of innovation.
