Inside Lenovo Yoga C640 (13) – disassembly and upgrade options
Lenovo Yoga C640 (13) is a 13-inch convertible laptop. It comes with a Lenovo Pen inside the box, which makes it the perfect design or art assistant.

1. Remove the bottom plate
Interestingly, there are only 6 Torx-head screws that keep the bottom panel attached to the chassis. Unscrew them and after that pop the plate with a plastic tool.
2. Battery
For a 13-inch device, 60Wh is the bomb. It is held in place by five Phillips-head screws and if you want to change something on the motherboard, remove the laptop from the power and unplug the battery connector.
3. Memory and storage
Upgradability doesn’t seem to be a strong point here, either. There is only one M.2 slot on this machine that fits only teeny weeny M.2 2242 SSDs that work with only two PCIe lanes. With that said, at least there are some options with the storage, as the memory is soldered to the motherboard.
4. Cooling system
As we pointed out in the review, the super small size of the fan may present some issues when the laptop is put under pressure. On the bright side, the heat pipe is quite bulky.

Is it possible to install a 2280 nvme ssd? On the first picture it look´s like there is enough space and also a mounting hole further on the right side.
And second question, if i install a nvme ssd with pci-e 3.0 x4 will it work and will it have an impact on performance, because you write, it works only with two pcie lanes?
Did you ever try this, and did it work?
yes, but you will have to glue a socket for the screw to fasten the disk.
