We’re reviewing the ultra-slim gaming beast – Gigabyte P34W and as always before the review, we will reveal some important highlights. We’re going to take a look under the hood and see how Gigabyte has managed cram all these power-hungry components in a body with such restricted volume (14”, 20.9mm).

Disassembling

If you need to access just the RAM, you won’t have to remove the whole bottom panel. There’s a little cover in the center held by just one screw.

In order to gain full access, you have to remove 14 more screws. After that, pulling up the bottom cover is easy and you can reach everything you might need to service – the battery, 2.5” HDD, mSATA (6 Gbps), two RAM slots (in our case one of them is free), Wi-Fi module, BIOS battery, cooling system.

Speaking of the latter, two small fans share the heat coming from both the CPU and the GPU. The main air vents are on the back of the laptop, and of course, it has holes on the bottom panel for extra airflow to the fans and the heat pipes.
