Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 in-depth review

This time around we'll show you the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 (16″ AMD, Gen 8). This is a transformer with a big 16-inch touchscreen and the notebook is based on the AMD's Barcelo-U Refresh CPU platform. We already reviewed another "Flex" laptop from the same family and that's the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 (14" Gen 8). The latter performed very well for its size and since the machine in front of us is configured with the same processor, we are impatient to see how fast the bigger sibling is (because it has a wider chassis so the cooling will benefit from this). You can choose between two display options and the top one is a 2.5K IPS panel - if you prefer a crisper image, this is the way to go but the high-res panel will have a negative impact on the battery life so keep that in mind as well. Disassembly, maintenance and upgrade options

Step 1: Opening the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 (16 AMD, Gen 8)Ensure the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 (16 AMD, Gen 8) is powered off and placed on a soft, clean surface to prevent scratches or damage. Remove the 9 Torx-head screws from the bottom of the laptop. Use a plastic pry tool to gently lift the bottom panel, starting from one of the top two corners and carefully working your way around.Hint: Be cautious during the prying process to avoid damaging internal components or the clips holding the panel in place.Step 2: Battery RemovalDisconnect the battery connector fro[...]

    Office Work

Office Work should be used mostly by users who spend most of the time looking at pieces of text, tables or just surfing. This profile aims to deliver better distinctness and clarity by keeping a flat gamma curve (2.20), native color temperature and perceptually accurate colors.

    Design and Gaming

This profile is aimed at designers who work with colors professionally, and for games and movies as well. Design and Gaming takes display panels to their limits, making them as accurate as possible in the sRGB IEC61966-2-1 standard for Web and HDTV, at white point D65.

    Health-Guard

Health-Guard eliminates the harmful Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) and reduces the negative Blue Light which affects our eyes and body. Since it’s custom tailored for every panel, it manages to keep the colors perceptually accurate. Health-Guard simulates paper so the pressure on the eyes is greatly reduced.
