[Comparison] AMD Ryzen 7 4700U vs Intel Core i7-1065G7 – AMD wins another battle in the war with more than 30% advantage

Intel and AMD have been at each other’s throats since forever. This war has seen both Intel and AMD at the top at various times and currently Team Red seems to have the upper hand. Today we will witness another battle added to that war as we compare the AMD Ryzen 7 4700U against the Intel Core i7-1065G7.

The AMD representative is built on the Zen 2 CPU architecture, which uses the 7nm process. On the other hand, the Core i7-1065G7 uses the 10nm Ice Lake architecture. Below, you can find a table with the specifications of both chips.

CPU Benchmarks

We knew it was over when we saw the results of the first test. What happened is that the Ryzen 7 4700U wiped the floor with the Intel Core i7-1065G7. The Ryzen managed to perform 30.8% better than the Intel when it came to our 3D rendering test with Cinebench 15 and was nearly a second faster in our Adobe Photoshop benchmark.

Verdict

The undeniable champion today is the Ryzen 7 4700U. With more cores and a slightly higher base and boost clock speeds, it was a clear winner. That said the Intel Core i7-1065G7 performed admirably and is still a fine choice if you’re considering buying a device equipped with one.
