[Comparison] Intel Core i7-12650H vs Intel Core i7-11800H – now that’s a good matchup
The best Tiger Lake processor on the market, the Core i7-11800H has been one of the few CPUs that could actually stand up against AMD’s Ryzen 5000H-series.
Intel’s 11th Gen kicked off a resurgence for Team Blue, which the 12th Gen family finished, resulting in Intel once again claiming the CPU crown. Today we are putting one of the newest Alder Lake CPUs, the Core i7-12650H against the SKU that started it all, the Core i7-11800H.
Here is our Top Laptop CPU Ranking, which showcases the best available processors, according to our testing.
Today we are comparing the Intel Core i7-12650H against the Core i7-11800H.

CPU benchmarks
Tiger Lake CPUs fight like, well, a tiger (it was too easy of a ball not to hit). The Core i7-11800H scores 18% higher in Cinebench 20 while being 0.5 seconds slower in Photoshop.
Results are from the Cinebench R23 CPU test (the higher the score, the better)
Conclusion
We are delightfully surprised by the performance that the Core i7-11800H is able to put out, despite lacking 2 cores. As we have said before, just because the 12th Gen is out, it doesn’t make last year’s CPUs irrelevant. What is more, you will probably be able to find some pretty decent deals on very powerful products, which is all that matters. Tiger Lake is in a healthy spot, and if you’re purely looking for a good gaming experience, you will be satisfied with both.
