[FPS Benchmarks] Gears 5 on NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 [40W and 50W] – the 50W version is 22% faster

Gears 5 is the sequel of Gears Of War 4 which was a decent title too. The new one uses Unreal Engine 4 and it looks more than pleasant when the visuals are turned up at least to Medium. This is not a super-heavy title on Low and Medium settings so even low-end machines with the 25W version of MX250 are good-enough for Low details.

On top of that, Gears 5 boasts decent single-player with a lot of action-packed moments. In addition, you can also play multiplayer, co-op, and this game supports cross-platform multiplayer so you can play with your console-centric buddies as well.

The game looks very good on Ultra details but you’re going to need a capable machine for smooth gameplay. For the sake of this article, we’re going to check the performance levels of GeForce GTX 1650 [40W, 896 CUDA, GDDR6] and the GeForce GTX 1650 [50W, 1024 CUDA, GDDR5].

    Verdict

The results are quite normal. Both video cards are capable of running this game on High or even on Ultra with some compromises (lower frames). Gears 5 doesn’t look too good on Low so let’s skip it right away. Medium is where the game engine starts to shine. Inevitably, the GeForce GTX 1650 [50W] is 21% faster and it delivers 70 FPS which is a good result.

The 50W version can almost show 60 FPS on High while the smaller sibling can reach 48 FPS. If you want to play Gears 5 with every setting turned on (and your current or future laptop is with a 50W version of GTX 1650), the GeForce GTX 1650 [50W] is 22% faster.
