[FPS Benchmarks] Red Dead Redemption 2 on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (65W) and RTX 3050 (55W) – RTX 3060 is 42% faster on average

At first sight, Red Dead Redemption 2 looks like an almost completely different game compared to Grand Theft Auto V for example (both are developed by Rockstar Games). On the other hand, the core gameplay isn’t that different between these two – your character is set in an open world and you can roam it freely – you can decide which main or side mission to pick or you can just travel around the map. Still, Red Dead Redemption 2 is set in 1889 so you can expect a Wild West setting and you can ride horses instead of cars.

This game isn’t among the lightest titles on the market. For High and especially for Max settings your device should be a powerful piece of machinery. If you’re okay with Medium settings, you can play this game even with a mid-range GPU like the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 [Laptop, 75W] that can show more than 70 FPS on Medium quality. For today’s article, we’ll compare two good RTX GPUs – the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (65W) and RTX 3050 (55W).

Verdict

At the end of the day, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (65W) is just destroying the GeForce RTX 3050 (55W) at least when it comes to Red Dead Redemption 2. The bigger GPU is 42% faster on average and that is a significant difference. However, the GeForce RTX 3050 [55W] can show around 46 FPS on Medium and this should be okay for the single-player mode if you aren’t too pretentious.
