[FPS Benchmarks] Shadow of the Tomb Raider on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (85W, 95W, and 130W) – even the 85W GPU gets 70+ FPS on Highest
Shadow Of The Tomb Raider is the newest game of the series. It offers a good single-player campaign, several DLCs (not included in the base game), and decent graphics as well.
Speaking of which, the title isn’t a light one when it comes to hardware. It’ll push your CPU and GPU to their limits. So, let’s not waste more time, we have three devices in front of us that are configured with the latest Ampere GPUs – NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (85W), GeForce RTX 3070 (95W), and GeForce RTX 3070 (130W). We’ll test them and see what the performance differences are when you start playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

Verdict
First of all, even the smallest GPU is absolutely fine for this game – 73 FPS on Highest preset is enough for smooth gameplay. In addition, this is an impressive score for a video card with just 85W TGP. The GeForce RTX 3070 (95W) shows even more muscle with 81 FPS on Highest. And last but not least, the 130W variant impresses us with a 90 FPS score – this is even beyond the GeForce RTX 2080 Super (150W) territory. Again, this is good because a 130W graphics solution is faster compared to a 150W ex-top dog GPU.
The good news is that if you need more frames per second, you can turn down the setting a bit to High (while keeping the visual quality at a good level) and in this situation, no matter the TGP version, all GPUs can push around 100 FPS.
