NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 vs GTX 1050 Ti – Turing vs Pascal, the showdown

Since the battle between NVIDIA’s new Turing non-RTX GPU – the GeForce GTX 1650 and the Pascal GeForce GTX 1050 wasn’t really competitive, it is time for something bigger. Let’s give the GTX 1650 a more worthy contender – the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. It is still the second most used graphics card in Steam. Its popularity comes from the superb price/performance ratio it offers. Without further ado, let’s get inside this article.

You can check out our Top Laptop Graphics Ranking to see these two graphics cards and many more.

Specs overview

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti is equipped with 768 CUDA cores, that are working at a Base frequency of 1493 MHz and can go up to 1620 MHz if the cooling allows it to. Its competitor houses more CUDA cores – 1024, although they are clocked slightly lower – 1395 MHz Base and 1560 MHz Boost. Their dies are built on a different manufacturing process, as well – 14 nm for the GTX 1050 Ti and 12 nm for the GTX 1650.

On the memory side, both of the graphics cards feature 4GB of GDDR5 memory, built on a 128-bit bus. However, the GTX 1650 has a higher frequency – 2001 MHz, compared to the 1752 MHz of the GTX 1050 Ti. This results in a slightly higher bandwidth as well – 128.1 GB/s for the GTX 1650 and 112.1 GB/s for the GTX 1050 Ti which, in fact, has the same bandwidth as the GTX 1050.

Benchmarks

Once again, the raw performance of the GTX 1650 is overwhelming its competitor.

Results are from the 3DMark: Time Spy (Graphics) benchmark (higher the score, the better)

Results are from the 3DMark: Fire Strike (Graphics) benchmark (higher the score, the better)

Results are from the Unigine Superposition benchmark (higher the score, the better)

Gaming tests

Additionally, AAA games happen to be another area where the GTX 1650 is more comfortable and takes victory from the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti.

Conclusion

Another competitor, another win for the GeForce GTX 1650. Clearly NVIDIA has done a great job in creating and optimizing their new entry level graphics card. However, we are getting in an area where it becomes less worth the upgrade. Especially in this case, as the difference is not that convincing. Anyways, stay tuned for the next battle of the GeForce GTX 1650.

1050ti uses 14nm process from Samsung, not 16nm

I mean if you already have a 1050 Ti its totally not worth the upgrade i heavilly recomend a 1650 sup. But if you you are building a new pc and hadn’t had a good Gpu i its pretty good but, still you can get a 1650 super for not that much more than the 1650. If you just want medium – high 60 fps 1080p just get the 1050 Ti and if you want 1080p 60+ fps (or 144 fps) get a 1660/1660 ti.
