NVIDIA GeForce MX350 vs AMD Radeon RX Vega 6 (Renoir C3) – the NVIDIA GPU is 50% faster

The NVIDIA GeForce MX350 is a capable low-end GPU that is based on the normal GeForce GTX 1050 but the MX GPU has a 64-bit memory bus and a lower TGP. No matter what, the end result isn’t bad at all and the GPU seems to be a good choice for budget buyers. As we all saw, the AMD RX Vega 7 is 15% slower than the NVIDIA’s new low-end king but the overall performance of the red iGPU is really good, especially for integrated graphics.

Now, we’ve decided to see if the AMD RX Vega 6 (Renoir C3) can stand its ground against the MX350. Yes, the Vega should be slower but it’ll be interesting to see how bigger is the gap between these two.

Specs overview

The GeForce MX350 is a Pascal GPU that is based on the GP107 chip. It has 640 shader units and 16 ROPs. The base and the boost clocks are the following – 1354 MHz and 1468 MHz. We have 7008 MHz for the memory.

The AMD Radeon RX Vega 6 is an iGPU. The video card has 512 MB memory but it allocates system RAM as well. The RX Vega 6 has 384 shader units at your disposal and 8 ROPs as well. The default TDP can vary between 15W and 35W because this iGPU can be fitted in AMD Ryzen 5 4500U with 15W TDP and on the other hand, we have the AMD Ryzen 5 4600H that has 35W TDP.

Verdict

Actually, we were expecting more from AMD RX Vega 6 but it is what it is. Still, the performance isn’t bad, probably this AMD iGPU is a lot faster than most of the Intel’s integrated solutions out there. However, with the aid of Vega 6, you can play a lot of light and popular games like FIFA 20, CS:GO, Rocket League, etc. In addition, if you choose a ULV CPU like AMD Ryzen 5 4500U or 4600U, you can have a fast and inexpensive laptop, that doesn’t dissipate too much heat and at the same time, the iGPU performance should be decent enough.

A few words regarding the GeForce MX350 – well, it’s just a lot faster when compared to the AMD RX Vega 6. If you need a budget gaming machine and if you don’t mind a bit heavier device that has a dedicated GPU, the MX350 should be on your shortlist.
