How to open ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED S5507 – disassembly and upgrade options
Opening the Device
- Undo the 10 Torx-head screws securing the bottom panel. Note that the two screws in the middle are hidden under small caps, which need to be unglued first.
- Use a lever tool to lift the panel behind the two hinges. Press the hinge and pop the panel to create a gap.
- Work around the sides and front, but avoid prying the rear. Lift the front of the panel and push it slightly backward. If needed, you may have to pry the back.
- Be aware that the vent cover is attached to the bottom panel. Pop its top section below the lid’s lower part where the internal clips are.

Note: On the inside of the bottom plate, there is a dust filter for the ventilation grill.
Battery Removal
- Pull out the battery connector from the motherboard.
- Undo the 5 Phillips-head screws securing the battery.
- Lift the battery to remove it from the device.
Note: The device uses a 70Wh battery, providing approximately 15 hours of video playback.
Memory Information
Note: The memory and Wi-Fi card are soldered. The device can be configured with 16GB or 32GB of fast LPDDR5x-8448 MHz RAM.
Storage Upgrade
- Locate the single M.2 slot for 2280 Gen 4 SSDs.
- Remove the preinstalled SSD and the thermal pad below it, if present.
- Install the new SSD in the slot.
