How to open HP ProBook 465 G11 – disassembly and upgrade options
Opening the Device
- Undo the 5 captive Phillips-head screws securing the bottom panel.
- Lift the two areas close to the top two corners behind the hinge cover to fully pop the rear.
- Then, pry the sides and the front to remove the bottom panel.

Battery Removal
- Detach the battery connector from the mainboard.
- Gently slide the battery unit to the left to remove it.
Note: This device comes with an optional 56Wh battery, while the base model has a 48Wh capacity. The 56Wh battery provides approximately 11 hours of video playback when the “Battery Saver” preset in Windows and “HP Recommend” mode in the HP Command Center are applied.
Memory Information
- The memory section is protected by a metal shroud, which can be popped open with a lever tool.
- There are two SODIMM slots, supporting up to 32GB of DDR5-4800MHz RAM in dual-channel mode, though the CPU can handle up to 64GB.
- Each RAM module has a dedicated thermal pad underneath for improved cooling.

Storage Upgrade
- There are two M.2 slots for storage expansion. The slot below the fan is compatible with 2280 Gen 4 SSDs, while the left slot can accommodate different SSD sizes.
- The preinstalled NVMe drive is protected by a metal plate secured with two screws, which has a cooling pad on the bottom side.
