How to open Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3i Gen 9 (15, Intel) – disassembly and upgrade options
Opening the Device
- Undo the 10 Torx-head screws securing the bottom panel.
- Place a thin plastic tool between the plate and the base to pry the back.
- Pop the top two corners and then pry the sides and the front to remove the bottom panel.

Battery Removal
- Pull out the battery connector from the mainboard.
- Undo the 2 Phillips-head screws securing the battery.
- Lift the battery to remove it from the device.
Note: The notebook has a 47Wh battery, providing approximately 8 hours of video playback.
Memory Information
Note: The RAM is soldered along with the metal cap above the chips. The device can be configured with 8GB in single-channel mode or 16GB of LPDDR5-5200MHz memory in dual-channel mode.
Storage Upgrade
- The device offers 128GB of UFS 3.1 for storage or one M.2 slot for 2242 Gen 4 SSDs.
- If your device has an NVMe SSD, there will be a thermal pad beneath it.
- Remove the existing SSD and thermal pad, if present, and install the new SSD in the slot.
