ASUS ROG GL752 preview – a high performance machine at a decent price from the Republic of Gamers series
The Republic of Gamers series, also known as ROG for short, offers from more affordable to high-end devices and the ASUS ROG GL752 falls into a more balanced category with a great price-to-performance ratio and a big 17-inch screen to go along with the gaming experience.

Upgrade options and comfort
The hardware of the GL752 is very powerful, which doesn’t come as a surprise, keeping in mind that it’s part of the ROG series. The machine weights is a bit hefty weighing at about 3.52 kg (7.76 lbs), but we suspect the plastic version, which is more widely spread in Europe, will weigh a little bit less.
The bottom piece provides easy upgrade via a small service lid – you’ll be able to reach the HDD, RAM slots, and the M.2 SSD. Moreover, the laptop provides superb keyboard experience with the red LED backlight and the 1.8mm key travel that will prove useful not only when gaming, but for typing as well.
Display and sound
As we already mentioned, the machine has a 17-inch display with a matte finish, TN panel with FHD (1920×1080) resolution which is a step down from the 15-inch model, but we will make sure to check that out in our full review.
The machine also offers high-quality sound, thanks to the SonicMaster technology paired with the so-called AudioWizard to help adjust all the available settings of the speakers, headset, and any device of this type.
Hardware
Okay, so we’ve arrived at the most important section from our preview of this gaming beast – the hardware. ROG GL752 boasts Intel’s latest generation CPU – Core i7-6700HQ, GeForce GTX 960M GPU and a lot of storage space. Also, we already mentioned that the machine has an M.2 slot that goes along with 1TB HDD.
The device offers up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM, except for the standard 8GB configurations. We’re eager to start working on our full in-depth review of the GL752, so make sure to follow our updates on the matter.

Though I like the reviews on https://fanreviews.co/gaming/asus-rog-g752vt-gaming-laptop-2015/asus-rog-g752vt-gaming-laptop-complete-overview I am awaiting for a full review on the laptop from Laptop media. Hoping to see it before I decide to buy. Though the hardware of the laptop looks good am not very happy with the price tag – around 1600 USD is bit high. But it is always good to have such high performance laptop where I can play graphics intensive games while I am traveling.
The review you posted refers to the G752 not the GL752.
Still good link 🙂
In several sites say display is IPS others say it is TN.
Please tell me if this model GL752 has IPS panel or TN. Thank you
Hello, Victor. It’s TN:
Stay tuned for our in-depth review 🙂
Hello Simeon,
I was disappointed to learn that the GL752 display is TN and not good.
I went to see the GL552 display that is better, but the Top Laptop PWM rankings, appears in 30th place.
Now I’m confused.
I wanted a 17 “GL752 type, but with a score of 10 in the PWM. What should I choose? Thank you
Just in case, buy Gl552VW.
I hope we get the in-depth review soon (may I know when?)
I’m planning to get this laptop but they’re rare where I live and I might miss the deal.
I plan to use it for image/video editing so very concerned about the screen (95% srgb is amazing but TN!?)
Please consider focusing on us graphic designers … is the screen suitable, is viewing angle bearable …etc.
Thank you so much!!!
Yo tengo esa laptop rog pero estoy buscando alguien que me pueda decir si a esta laptop se le puede ampliar de una gtx960 a una gtx 980 ? Sin que afecte al equipo
