ASUS ZenFone Selfie preview – a smartphone with two 13MP cameras that will temp the Selfie fans
ASUS ZenFone Selfie, as the name suggests, is mainly aimed for users, who are huge selfie fans. For this purpose, the device boasts a 13MP front-facing camera with double LED flash. The phone also has some other features worth mentioning and that’s what we’re about to do in this preview.

5.5-inch Full HD screen and 3000mAh battery
ZenFone Selfie features a 5.5-inch display with 1080 x 1920 resolution. Despite the large screen, images will appear sharp since the pixel density is 403ppi. Furthermore, the IPS panel used in the display offers wide viewing angles (up to 178 degrees) as well as vivid images. On top of that, ASUS’ TruVivid is present and thanks to it the colors on the display are more vivid and have higher contrast, while the Glove Touch technology allows you to use the device even in cold winter days. The screen is protected by a Gorilla Glass 4 coating keeping it safe from cracks and scratches.
The device boasts powerful specs, which are powered by a big battery, in this case – 3000mAh. We have no information about the battery life yet, but according to ASUS it should be able to provide over 23 hours of talk time and up to 255 hours in standby mode, despite the big Full HD display.
Snapdragon 615 SoC and versatile ZenUI interface
ASUS ZenFone Selfie boasts the 64-bit Snapdragon 615 SoC that has eight Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.7GHz paired with Adreno 405 GPU and 3GB of RAM. Keeping these specs in mind, we expect the device to run fast and smoothly. The integrated 4G/LTE module will provide high Web browsing speeds (up to 150 Mbps). The 802.11ac standard for 433 Mbps Wi-Fi connection is also supported. There is 32GB of storage on the device, but it can be expanded with up to 64GB, thanks to the microSD card slot.
ZenFone Selfie runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with ZenUI on top of it and ASUS have put a lot of effort in adding as many features, modes and pre-installed apps in it as possible, or in other words, there is no way to get bored with this device in your hands.
Two 13MP cameras each having two LED flashes and a wide variety of features
Without any doubt, when addressing ASUS ZoneFone Selfie, some of the most important features, which we must take into account, are its cameras. Both the rear and front-facing unit have 13MP sensors with double LED flash. The one on the back offers laser autofocus, thanks to which, it takes only 0.2 seconds to lock focus on the desired object. The user interface also provides a wide variety of shooting modes and features. One of them is to take a photo with the front-facing camera by drawing the letter “S” on a locked screen and you can edit the shots afterward.
Due to the Super HDR technology present in the device, you catch can up to four times brighter images. Another thing worth mentioning is the Low Light shooting mode that allows you take photos with higher quality in low-light conditions, due to its pixel combining technology improving the camera’s light sensitivity. This feature is also available for the front-facing sensor and the same unit is also capable of capturing selfie panoramas, up to 140 degrees. On top of that, you will be able to enjoy some great macro shots, since you can focus an object from 6 cm distance.
