Chuwi HeroBook is a dirt-cheap Windows 10 notebook that will surprise you ($199; 26% off)

You want a Windows 10 notebook at a “Chromebook price”? Or you have a powerful computer at home but you’d like to have a cheap little machine to carry with you everywhere? Chuwi HeroBook is the hero you need.

Our friends at Gearbest have put it on their Flash Sale list reducing its price to just $199 ($270) right now. Check out the current price here:

The 14.1-inch Chuwi HeroBook has a modest Intel Atom X5-E8000 CPU which should be powerful enough for tasks like Web surfing, watching Full HD (or even 4K) movies, and editing documents.

The internal storage is just 64GB eMMC but it’s pretty impressive that the model has a free M.2 SSD slot which you can use for making HeroBook a pretty fast everyday machine. The model also has a Memory card slot so the storage can be expanded further. The RAM is 4GB which is also near to impossible to find in a sub-$200 notebook.

The battery has a capacity of 38Wh which is good given the size of the laptop and Chuwi claims that it should last over 9 hours at one charge. Sounds legit, having in mind that there aren’t any serious drainers – the display uses an HD TN panel and the Atom X5-E8000 has just 5W TDP.

We very much liked the borderless full-size keyboard and the 5.75-inch trackpad with multi-touch features.

On the sides, we find 2x USB 3.0 ports, 3.5mm audio jack, Micro HDMI, and MicroSD. Despite the little size of its body, HeroBook has four speakers so we can expect good sound quality.

Chuwi HeroBook hasn’t arrived in our office yet but we’re glad to see that all of the “User reviews” in Gearbest are positive:
