Acer has once again surprised us with an elegant tablet – the Aspire SW5-015 and it is sweet. With its ability to change back and forth between a laptop and a tablet and its powerful hardware, it is suitable for working in many different environments. The display is amazing with its clear colors and crisp picture, reading from it is just as pleasant as watching movies. Overall it is a great machine, useful for every member of the family, it is truly a product from the future.

Design

The tablet has a humble but modern design that catches the eye. It’s light but well protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 cover technology. It has a white back with silver edges, perfectly complimented by the docking keyboard bearing the same color. The keyboard has a magnetic stand that holds the tablet steady and allows you to handle the device with ease. We also love how soft and responsive the buttons are and how easy it is to use the multi-touch screen. With the optimized features of Windows 8.1 the tablet is fun to control and provides smooth use at all times.

Hardware

We are most impressed by the 10.1-inch screen with support for full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels). The image is clean with bright and vivid colors, ideal for entertainment as well as work. Our only fear is that the 22 Wh battery will not be enough to support that screen for long, but we need to test it to find out if it can indeed last for 7 hours of video playback.

It is powered by Intel Atom Z3735F with integrated Intel HD Graphics which is perfect for playing most games at decent frame rates. Even though there is plenty of space for movies and games with the integrated 32GB of memory, we recommend using a microSD card for people with a bigger collections.
