日本Gaming on Intel’s HD Graphics 620 (Kaby Lake)? Sure, why not.
Yes, sure, the integrated graphics isn’t intended for gaming and it sure isn’t the optimal solution even for gaming on a budget but since we tested the Intel HD Graphics 620’s raw performance in benchmark tests, we decided to give it a go.

Lenovo’s Yoga 910 is equipped with the Core i5-7200U CPU and its integrated HD Graphics 620 and with a little help of the 8GB DDR4-2133 RAM chip, the device seems to be fully capable of running some of the latest games in low resolution and low graphics settings. We ran CS:GO and GTA V and by the looks of it, you can casually game on this thing every now and then. Older much less demanding games will run even smoother while League of Legends and DOTA 2 will be absolutely playable. How cool is that?
This, however, raises a very serious question. Is there a point in buying GeForce 930M and 920M-equppied notebooks? What about the low-end AMD graphics like the R5 series – the M335 and M315? Well, probably not. They consume more power, weigh more and notebooks with these chips will probably cost more than other notebooks relying on Kaby Lake’s integrated graphics. Still, you have to settle for lower graphic settings for sure. Here are the frame rates we got from the gaming tests.

Do you think the Total War games would run decent on the Intel HD Graphics 620?
Shogun Total War rubs ok on some laptops, but Rome Total War is much more demanding
No, most definitely not. Possibly Total War Battles: Kingdoms, but that’s a mobile-pc cross platform game. And honestly, maybe not even that. I wouldn’t even consider that a Total War game though, so doesn’t count.
I have new HP laptop with Intel Core i5-7200U CPU (2,50 GHz) and Intel HD Graphics 620. Physical memory is 8109 MB, but only 128 MB Dedicated Video Memory… I watched a video on YouTube how they tested different games on this laptop, but damn, GTA 4, which should be running pretty much good like in video, looks as bad as it looked on my 6 years old laptop. I’m really confused with this… Any comments ?
It’s looks like shit because Grand Theft Auto 4 doesn’t use VRAM, instead it uses dedicated graphics memory. This means that you cold have 16GB of RAM but the game wont use a single bitof the Ram. It’s uses your Graphics card memory instead. In your case you have 128MB of dedicated graphics and GTA IV minimum specs requires 256 Mb.
Install latest intel hd graphic driver and directx, then create a file named commandline.txt follow this ~( https://www.gtastunting.net/index.php?topic=45401.0 ) and gta 4 should work like butter.
In gta Iv you can create a command line.txt and gain some memory from your ram to gpu did you try that
Just to be clear dave, do your specifications on your laptop run gta 5
Some laptops have an area in the BIOS to adjust the amount of RAM set aside for the video card. You could start there
Tried with BIOS, but this laptop doesn’t have the settings I need.
I can run war thunder on high at ~45 FPS with this graphics card, which I think is very impressive
You probably only have one stick of RAM, which means your memory access is happening over a single channel. Adding another stick of RAM would provide a second channel doubling the memory bandwidth and give you a very healthy increase in the integrated graphics performance.
Absolutely, but we’ve tested with soldered RAM so upgrade wasn’t available.
Will Overwatch run decent on this?
Yes, at low you can get 45 FPS, and at medium around 30-35FPS, so you’re set.

The Witcher 3, DB xenoverse, be prepared for about 30 fps at lowest settings. That’s an optimistic max. so probably not. Idk about mortal combat tho.

maybe the first one. I get 45 FPS max settings on the 2nd one with my Titan X.

No need to increase dedicated memory laptop manages itself with every supportable game in intel hd graphics family.
