Gaming with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 – 38 benchmarks and gameplay videos
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 is still one of the most popular GPUs on the market when it comes to budget gaming laptops. It’s the entry-level model of the GTX lineup and it’s used in many mainstream and budget gaming laptops. If the power of the NVIDIAs MX series isn’t enough for your gaming needs, the GeForce GTX 1050 comes next. Well, it’s not a GPU monstrosity but it still can deliver good fps without stretching your wallet too much. In addition, it’s not that power-hungry like some of the latest NVIDIA RTX video cards.

Benchmarks comparison
Before the real gaming tests, let’s see how the GTX 1050 fares against the other competitors in its price range in terms of synthetic performance.
Results are from the 3DMark: Fire Strike (Graphics) benchmark (higher the score, the better)
Results are from the Unigine Superposition benchmark (higher the score, the better)
Specs overview
The regular GeForce GTX 1050 isn’t lacking too much behind the Ti model. It’s a 14nm Pascal GP107 video card with 640 shader units and 16 ROPs. The base and boost core clocks are set to 1354 MHz and 1493 MHz. The video card comes up to 4GB GDDR5 memory and the TGP of 75W is more than enough for a chip from this performance class.

Verdict
Yes, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 isn’t bad at all. It can run most of the newest games at least on Medium settings with acceptable frame rates. As we said, it’s not a super-fast video card but its performance is enough for unpretentious gamers that don’t need the Ultra quality by any means necessary. You can play the majority of the most popular and light games like CS:GO, Team Fortress 2, World Of Tanks, Warframe, Rocket League, League of Legends, Minecraft, DOTA 2, etc, with high fps and decent details at the same time.
The other games, ergo the newest and heaviest titles like Far Cry New Dawn, ARK: Survival Evolved, Resident Evil 2, Call Of Duty Modern Warfare are not a problem for the GTX 1050 if you don’t mind Medium settings and fps ranging from 30 to 50-ish. So, the GTX 1050 is still a good buy even in 2020.
