Beautiful design and dual 12MP camera
What grabs our attention the first time we touch Huawei Honor 8 is its stylish design with aluminum frame and only 7.5mm thick profiles. Also, the phone’s weight is rather reasonable – 153 grams. Thanks to the 2.5D glass, Honor 8 has slightly rounded edges which make it more comfortable to hold in the hand.
Similarly to Huawei P9, we are presented with a dual 12MP camera featuring one RGB and one monochrome sensor working together. A special processor measures the depth in an image, ensures better focus and general processing so that the photo you’ve captured delivers maximum quality. Also present are hybrid autofocus, using a laser, dual LED flash and many modes including a Pro mode with various manual settings. On the front, you will find an 8MP camera which also takes pretty decent photos in low light.
Octa-core Kirin 950, 4GB RAM and 3000mAh battery
Furthermore, Honor 8 boasts a Kirin 950 which is part of the highest end Huawei chips. It has been manufactured through a 16nm technological process and features four Cortex-A53 cores ticking at 1.8GHz and another four more powerful Cortex-A72 cores ticking at up to 2.3GHz. Additionally, it is accompanied by a Mali-T880 MP4 GPU and whopping 4GB of RAM. Honor 8 also has 32GB of internal storage and it can be expanded with a microSD card.
This big boy comes with a 3000mAh battery and Huawei claims that a single charge should ensure 10 hours of video playback. What’s more, 30 minutes of charging will give you up to 47% of battery. Another interesting claim is that you should be able to get six hours of music playback after only 10 minutes of charging.
5.2-inch Full HD display, Android 6.0, USB Type-C and fingerprint scanner
This model’s display is 5.2″ and it offers Full HD resolution (1920 х 1080 p) which means high image detail. It will provide you with bright and contrasty pictures as well as wide color gamut coverage. What’s more, it restricts blue light emissions which lead to eye fatigue.
Honor 8 comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, accompanied by the EMUI 4.1 UI which brings a great number of pre-installed apps and useful features. You will also benefit from a fingerprint scanner, NFC, USB Type-C and dual SIM capabilities.
