Lenovo Ideapad 530S 14 display profiles – Quality and Health impact results
530s (14″) is one of the latest additions to the Lenovo IdeaPad family aimed at the mainstream segment of the market. However, it offers more than most of its competitors at its price range – beautiful thin body with narrow bezels, good cooling system, and high-quality input devices.
What about the screen? 530S comes in configurations with Full HD and QHD display types. In both cases the panels are IPS. We tested the Full HD one – LG LP140WF8-SPP1 (LGD0599). It covers just 54% of the sRGB color gamut so it’s not suitable for color sensitive work. The color accuracy is not good too – DeltaE=4.5 without profile and 3.4 with our Gaming and Design profile.
On the bright side, the screen panel is relatively safe for your eyes – it doesn’t use PWM and has acceptable contrast ratio – 1100:1. If you want to protect your body further, learn more about our Health Guard profile.

Since our profiles are tailored for each individual display model, this article and its respective profile package are meant for the ASUS ZenBook 15 UX533 with a 14.0″ LG LP140WF8-SPP1 (LGD0599) panel with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. You can check out all configurations here:

Office Work
Office Work should be used mostly by users who spend most of the time looking at pieces of text, tables or just surfing. This profile aims to deliver better distinctness and clarity by keeping a flat gamma curve (2.20), native color temperature and perceptually accurate colors.
Design and Gaming
This profile is aimed at designers who work with colors professionally, and for games and movies as well. Design and Gaming takes display panels to their limits, making them as accurate as possible in the sRGB IEC61966-2-1 standard for Web and HDTV, at white point D65.
Health-Guard
Health-Guard eliminates the harmful Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) and reduces the negative Blue Light which affects our eyes and body. Since it’s custom tailored for every panel, it manages to keep the colors perceptually accurate. Health-Guard simulates paper so the pressure on the eyes is greatly reduced.
