Lenovo Phab2 Plus PB2 preview – 6.4″ display, 8-core CPU, 3GB RAM and 3 cameras
This July Lenovo announced their new Phab 2, Phab 2 Pro, and Phab 2 Plus. We just received the latter for testing and we can say that its size is big enough to consider Phab 2 Plus as a tablet. 6.4-inch Full HD display and Android 6.0 Marshmallow
Perhaps the most notable feature of this model is its display. The latter is 6.4″ in size and has a Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 p). This will ensure good enough image detail of 344 ppi. Furthermore, the display is slightly rounded along its sides which makes it even more attractive. Additionally, the thin side bezels contribute to a better grip when holding the device in one hand. Also noteworthy is the available IPS panel which ensures accurate colors and good viewing angles. Last but not least, the display uses Gorilla Glass protection against scratches.
Phab 2 Plus comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow as well as some additional software features provided by Lenovo.
8-core CPU, 3GB of RAM and a dual 13MP camera
This phablet has a Mediatek MT8783 CPU that has eight Cortex-A53 cores, ticking at up to 1.3 GHz. Also, the chip features 3 GB of RAM and a Mali-T720MP3 GPU. All this should translate into smooth operation. As far as internal storage is concerned – it is 32 GB and you also have a microSD card slot which supports up to 256 GB cards.
Phab 2 Plus features a 13MP rear camera that comes with a dual LED flash, ultra fast laser autofocus and a maximum aperture value of f/2.0. It is also curious to know that the back has a second camera that allows you to change the focused area after you have taken a shot, alter the background, and other options. The front-facing camera is 8MP and has f/2.2 maximum aperture and Full HD video recording capabilities.
4050mAh battery, fingerprint scanner and Dolby Atmos sound
The battery capacity on Phab 2 Plus is 4050 mAh which is good for the big display. According to the manufacturer, a single charge should provide up to 23 hours of phone call time and up to 17 days of stand by.
Additionally, the back of the device boasts a fingerprint scanner, which seems to be pushing its way more and more into mid-range smartphones.
Even though there is only a single loudspeaker, it comes with the Dolby Atmos technology. This means that the sound quality and output can be expected to be very good.
