The Nubia Red Magic is a gaming smartphone with Snapdragon 835 and 8GB of RAM for just 151€ (limited time)

Nubia, which is a subsidiary of Chinese electronics manufacturer ZTE, has been releasing gaming-oriented smartphones that have managed to grab some of the consumers’ attention, with bold designs that feature aluminum bodies and an RGB strip on the back.

Starting off with the design, the phone is made out of aluminum alloy, with the back having a very aggressive, angular design, that Nubia refers to as “Diamond”. On the back, you will also find the camera and the fingerprint scanner that are shaped like diamonds. There is also the RGB strip that is configurable from the settings of the phone.

Going over to the front of the phone, you can see the 6.00-inch FHD+ IPS screen, which has a pixel density of 403ppi, high maximum brightness, and a good contrast ratio. As you can see from the photo below, the bezels on the top and the bottom are on the thicker side, but this actually helps with the usability of the device, minimizing the risks of having accidental touches during gaming sessions, which is important.

Under the hood, the device sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and 8GB of RAM. While the 835 is now a few years old, it still provides a flagship experience and can handle mobile titles like PUBG Mobile, COD Mobile, and Asphalt 9 with no issue. Let’s also talk about the cooling of the phone for a bit. The red slits that you see on the back of the smartphone are actually connected air channels that help dissipate heat. The materials used also make the device itself a sort of a “black body”, further helping it transfer heat away from its components.

The DTS Sound+SmartPA sound amplifier helps deliver better audio. The main camera has a resolution of 24MP and can shoot videos in 4K. The secondary selfie camera comes with a resolution of 8MP and can shoot video in 1080p@30fps. The phone’s battery comes with a capacity of 3800 mAh, supports fast charging, and comes with a Nubia Dash Power adapter in the box.
