Resolution

We measure the camera’s resolution in LPH (Lines per Picture Height), which is affected by both the lens and the sensor. To conduct our test, we use the ISO 12233 test chart.

Galaxy S6’s camera exceeded the range of the chart by achieving maximum resolution of 2700 LPH at the center. This is a good indicator for the reproduced details.

The camera of the iPhone 6 reaches a maximum resolution of 2030 lph in the center of the field, placing it ahead of some 13-megapixel devices.

Using our test composition, we can gain a subjective but fairly accurate view of the resolution, sharpness, color noise and chromatic aberrations.

There are no signs of chromatic aberrations at all. The shadows are perfectly reproduced with very low levels of color noise.

Minor signs of chromatic aberrations and low levels of color noise, mainly in the shaded areas.
