Design

The laptops capture the gamer aesthetic pretty darn well, with reflective AORUS logos on the lid, some RGB below the lid for ambient lighting, as well as lines and decorations on the lid and base. The touchpad also has the AORUS falcon logo. Aluminum is used for the construction, which is good since AORUS laptops generally don’t come cheap. In terms of weight, the 15X comes at 2.60 kg and has a thickness of 19.7 mm, while the larger 17X has 200 grams extra and is 2 mm thicker.

Display

There are a total of three display options for the AORUS 15X, all with 100% sRGB coverage. We start off with a Full HD 360Hz panel, while you can also get two QHD panels with either 165Hz or 240Hz refresh rates. The AORUS 17X only offers the 240Hz option, which is still good, since with the GPUs that are available, you will be able to handle anything at QHD.

Specifications and features

Both laptops offer the Core i7-13700HX and the Core i9-13900HX, while the larger AORUS 17X also adds the Core i9-13950HX, with 24 cores and 32 threads. On the GPU side, the AORUS 15X comes with the RTX 4060 and RTX 4070, both with a 140W power limit. The AORUS 17X goes balls to the wall, with the RTX 4080 and RTX 4090, with a 175W TGP.

The laptops come with some pretty good features, including a FHD webcam with an IR sensor for face recognition. The 15X has a total of two USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) ports, one Thunderbolt 4 port, an HDMI 2.1 port, a mini DisplayPort, an Ethernet port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. With more available space, the 17X has an extra Type-A port.
