[Specs and Info] ASUS Vivobook Pro 16 OLED (K6602, 13th Gen Intel) – For the young professionals that strive for performance

The Vivobook brand has always targeted a younger demographic, mainly by using refreshing designs and good looks. However, this can only get you so far, so pairing that up with the latest hardware resulted in some pretty good mid-range devices. Then, suddenly, the Pro line popped up, with a big increase in performance, features, build quality, as well as price.

ASUS’s workstation segment had been divided between the larger Zenbooks and the ProArt StudioBook devices, so getting Vivobooks into the mix seemed like a good idea. Today we have the third generation of Vivobook Pro laptops, the 16-inch Vivobook Pro 16 OLED, which harnesses the 13th Gen Raptor Lake H-series processors as well as RTX 40-series graphics, which bring both gaming and content creation performance. And you’ll be able to do plenty of both, thanks to 120Hz displays in several resolution options.

Today we’re giving you a quick overview of the ASUS Vivobook Pro 16 OLED (K6602, 13th Gen Intel).

ASUS Vivobook Pro 16 OLED (K6602, 13th Gen Intel): Full Specs

Design

By now, everyone is pretty familiar with the Vivobooks’ design language. You get a metallic lid with either a Quiet Blue or a Cool Silver finish. The rest of the laptop is made of plastic, however, we expect the build quality and rigidity to be good. With a Vivobook, sleekness, and portability are assured, as the laptop weighs only 1.90 kg and has a profile of 20 mm. A great feature of many Vivobooks is the antimicrobial finish, which covers the base and inhibits the growth of bacteria and pathogens by 99% over a 24-hour period.

Moving around the laptop, we find a Full HD webcam with a privacy shutter on the top bezel. As for the base, the power button has an integrated fingerprint reader. The keyboard has a dished design, with the keycaps perfectly matching the shape of your fingertips, which should make for a more comfortable typing experience.

As for the sides, this is where the I/O’s been situated. There are two USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) ports, one USB Type-C 3.2 (Gen. 2) port, one Thunderbolt 4 port, an HDMI 2.1 port, a MicroSD card slot, a LAN port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Display

The display selection of the laptop includes several 16:10 displays. The base model has a Full HD+ IPS panel with a 60Hz refresh rate and only around 50% sRGB coverage. There’s another Full HD+ IPS display, this time with a 120Hz refresh rate as well as 100% sRGB coverage. Both FHD+ displays have 300 nits of brightness, which is enough even for outdoor use. There’s also a QHD+ IPS panel with 500 nits of brightness and wider 100% DCI-P3 coverage. It also has a 120Hz refresh rate as well as Pantone validation for color accuracy. The OLED panel here has a 3.2K resolution, 400 nits of brightness in SDR content, 600 nits in HDR content, and the same 100% DCI-P3 color coverage.

Specifications and features

The laptop offers three Raptor Lake H-series processors: the Core i5-13500H, the Core i7-13700H, and the Core i9-13900H. The Core i5 comes with 12 cores and 16 threads, while the Core i7 and Core i9 have 14 cores and 20 threads each. The GPU selection includes the RTX 4050 with 6GB of VRAM and the RTX 4060 with 8GB of VRAM. You also get the Iris Xe Graphics G7, which can be of big help with encoding and video rendering, so you can use both GPUs for multitasking without affecting the performance of each task. The laptop comes with a MUX switch, which means that gaming is in the picture as well. Thanks to the high refresh rate of the displays, means that you can get a decent gaming experience out of the 4050 and 4060, especially when the MUX switch is enabled.
