The number of convertibles that we have seen released in the last couple of months is astonishing. The market is getting much more attention, thanks to the devices themselves becoming better and manufacturers finally starting to understand what is needed from a convertible device.

Today we have what will probably be one of the better convertibles of the market. The ThinkPad L13 Yoga Gen 2, along with the regular L13 Gen 2, comes with the latest AMD hardware, along with the good build quality that all ThinkPads are known for.

Today we are giving you a quick overview of the Lenovo ThinkPad L13 and L13 Yoga Gen 2 (AMD).

Design

The laptops use the traditional ThinkPad materials, which make the laptops quite sturdy and resistant to flex and damages. They both have an aluminum lid, while the rest of the body is crafted using glass fiber and polycarbonate composite, which can be found on pretty much all ThinkPads in existence. In terms of weight and height, the L13 weighs 1.39 kg and is 17.6 mm tall, around 50 grams lighter than the L13 Yoga. The convertible laptops also have the same height of 17.6 mm.

Display

The L13 offers two display options, while the L13 Yoga brings that down to one. Both laptops offer 13.3-inch displays. The regular L13 comes with either a 768p TN panel or a Full HD IPS one, which also comes with optional touchscreen support. Going over to the L13 Yoga, and you get a single Full HD IPS display option with 99% sRGB coverage and touchscreen support.

Specifications and features

Both laptops are equipped with Zen 3-based Ryzen 5000 U-series processors. There are a total of four CPUs to choose from, with both Ryzen 3, 5, and 7 options being available. In terms of graphics, the integrated GPU units that AMD provides should do the job fairly well. There is the RX Vega 6, 7, or 8, which come with the Ryzen 3, 5, and 7, respectively.

Features-wise, you get a spill-resistant backlit keyboard, a Mylar-surfaced touchpad, and a TrackPoint. A stereo speaker setup with Dolby Audio support is also a part of the mix.
