Dell Precision 16 7670: Full Specs

Design

While some Precision laptops take after the XPS series in terms of design, being relatively thin and light, the Precision 16 has bulked up for the winter, weighing 2.60 kg and having a profile of 23.30 cm. It’s built of solid aluminum, while some parts might be from plastic, but we generally expect good build quality, as the sheer weight and thickness will contribute to a lot of structural support. The design is simple, with rounded corners and sharp edges. The whole backside is taken by heat exhaust vents, so cooling is taken seriously with the device.

Display

There are three display options, two of which have a FHD+ resolution. The base model gets only 250 nits of brightness and a 1000:1 contrast ratio. It also doesn’t cover 100% of the sRGB color gamut. The second display ups the brightness to 500 nits and shows 99% DCI-P3 coverage. Then there’s an OLED panel with a 4K resolution, 500 nits of brightness, and 100% DCI-P3 coverage.

Specifications and features

The device carries some pretty powerful components. The base model features the Core i5-12600H, which has 12 cores and 16 threads. From there, you can only get HX-processors, with the Core i5-12600HX, Core i7-12850HX, and Core i9-12950HX. For graphics, you can stick with the integrated solution inside each CPU, but you can also get an RTX A-series GPU, with up to an RTX A5500, which is based on the same die as the RTX 3080 Ti. The RTX 3080 Ti also makes an appearance here, but Dell doesn’t tell us its wattage.

The port selection includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) ports, one USB Type-C 3.2 (Gen. 2) port, an HDMI 2.1 port, an SD card reader, a LAN port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
