Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i (16″, 2023): Full Specs

Design

The laptop comes with two variants for the build materials. You can get a fully aluminum laptop, as well as a version with only a metal lid and a plastic base. The all-metal setup should provide better durability, while also being thinner. Both laptops weigh 1.89 kg, which is decent, considering the form factor and the hardware that’s inside. There are also three colors to choose from, Abyss Blue, Cloud Grey, and Violet.

Dimensions
All-metal model356 x 251 x 16.9 mm (14.02 x 9.88 x 0.67 inches)
Plastic base model356 x 251 x 17.9 mm (14.02 x 9.88 x 0.70 inches)

Abyss Blue
Cloud Grey
Violet

The port selection of the IdeaPad Slim 5i offers two USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) ports, two USB Type-C 3.2 (Gen. 1) ports, an HDMI 1.4b port, a MicroSD card slot, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Display

The display selection of the IdeaPad includes a base model Full HD+ IPS panel, which also comes with optional touchscreen support. The two are very similar, with 300 nits of brightness, but only around 50% sRGB coverage. From here, you can upgrade to a 2.5K QHD+ IPS display with a 350-nit peak brightness and 100% sRGB coverage. It comes with Dolby Vision support, which means better colors and contrast for Creators.

Specifications and features

The base model of the laptop includes a P-series CPU, with either a Core i5-1340P or a Core i7-1360P. If you want even more performance you can switch to an H-series chip, starting with a Core i5-13420H and going as high as the Core i7-13700H, which has 14 cores and 20 threads, so you get plenty of power for heavy work. Since there’s no discrete GPU, the CPUs should be easier to cool even with a simpler solution. However, we still hope to see at least two heat pipes and one or two fans, as the chip has enormous potential to do really well. The integrated graphics come with encoding support so you can do plenty of rendering and 3d modeling.
