Design

Undoubtedly, the laptop looks very good, with a minimalistic approach to the design. We have a fully-metal chassis that weighs 1.79 kg and has a profile of 16.51 mm, which is pretty lightweight, considering the hardware that you’re getting. The Graphite finish looks premium and the minimal branding elevates the luxury feel of the device too, with only a small Samsung logo on the lid.

In terms of ports, there’s one USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) port, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI 2.0 port, a MicroSD card reader, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Display

The Book3 Ultra comes with a 16-inch 3K AMOLED panel, which means a 16:10 aspect ratio. AMOLED panels are simply the best that you can get, with deep blacks and high brightness. The one that we have here maxes out at 400 nits and while Samsung doesn’t reveal anything about the color reproduction, we expect the display to be more than capable to handle any type of Creator workload.

Specifications and features

The laptop has two Raptor Lake H-series processors, either the Core i7-13700H or the Core i9-13900H. So far, the CPUs are performing great, and while we’ve only had gaming laptops to test, we think that the Galaxy Book3 Ultra will come with good enough cooling, in order to allow the chips to shine. For graphics, the Core i7 configurations come with the RTX 4050, while the Core i9 configurations have the RTX 4070. With this hardware, the Galaxy Book3 Ultra certainly qualifies as a workstation, that’s also able to game pretty well. Yes, the panel does have a higher resolution, but the GPUs are plenty strong to handle even more demanding titles, especially the RTX 4070.
