[Specs, Info, and Prices] The Lenovo Legion 5 and 5 Pro series gets some additional GPU offerings

While we already covered the new Legion 5i series and touched upon the 5 Pro series, Lenovo was quick to shake things up once again, by adding some new hardware options on the GPU front, this time for the AMD-based laptops. The Legion 5 series is very aggressively priced, while the 5 Pro charges a decent chunk more, but you get better hardware when it comes to the display along with some changes in the design.

Without wasting any more time, here is our updated overview of the Legion 5 (15) and (17), along with a quick look at the Legion 5i Pro.

Legion 5 (15) and (17)

It retains the same design and build materials, with a sleek and relatively thin plastic outer shell. Lenovo has been a key member of the “Incognito gaming” club, along with HP and their new OMEN series. Sometimes, you don’t need a tornado of RGB and logos all around the place and Lenovo’s laptops fit right into that aesthetic.

The display choices also remain the same, with two panels to pick from. On the 15-inch model, you get FHD panels with either a 120Hz or 165Hz refresh rate. As for the 17-inch model, the two panels also have an FHD resolution, but the base panel has a measly 60Hz refresh rate, while the second display ups that to 144Hz.

Lastly, the specs also remain identical, when it comes to the processors. The laptops are still outfitted with the Ryzen 5000 H-series chips, with a total of two processors to pick from. The base configurations have the Ryzen 5 5600H, while more power-hungry consumers would love the Ryzen 7 5800H. The main changes are on the GPU front, as now the laptops support the GTX 1650 and the RTX 3050 Ti, a long-awaited member of the RTX family.

Legion 5 Pro (16)

The Legion 5 Pro also gets some hardware upgrades, also on the GPU front. It keeps the design from before, with an aluminum unibody construction, which is rigid and feels premium, especially with the anodized finish on the back. It also comes in two colors, with a Storm Grey or a Stingray White, which just sounds badass and reminds us of another Stingray, an automotive one.

The laptop offers a single display, which has a diagonal of 16 inches, a QHD resolution, and a 16:10 aspect ratio, alluding to the Pro in its name. It also covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut, as well as supporting NVIDIA G-Sync and Dolby Vision.

For hardware, you get either the Ryzen 5 5600H or the Ryzen 7 5800H, which are both relatively new and bring a sweet performance bump over the older 4000 H-series chips. The GPU front has some new additions, which include the RTX 3050 and 3050 Ti, broadening the GPU gamut by two more choices.
