Acer announced its new mid-range gaming series Predator Helios 300 (PH315-52) which isn’t an entirely new series like the new Helios 700 but it’s actually a refresh of the PH315-51 from the last year. The new one is a bit thinner (23 vs 27 mm), lighter (2.3 kg vs 2.7 kg) and has narrow bezels which makes the whole laptop much smaller.
Just as its bigger sibling Helios 700, Helios 300 is equipped with 9th Gen Coffee Lake HR CPU but instead of i9-9980HK Acer has integrated the more budget models i5-9300H and Core i7-9750H. The series takes advantage of the latest RTX GPUs by NVIDIA – you can choose between RTX 2060 and RTX 2070 Max-Q. GTX 1660 Ti configurations are expected at a later point in time.
The starting price in the USA will be $1199 and it will be released this month. Unfortunately, Europeans will have the chance to get it not just later (around June) but also at a much higher price – 1499 EUR.
