4 reasons to BUY the Acer ConceptD CM2 (CM2241W)
1. The Aspect ratio
The monitor comes with a 16:10 aspect ratio, which is becoming more and more popular. This gives the user more room on the vertical axis, allowing for more apps to be fit on the screen. This greatly improves the workflow as you don’t always have to Alt+Tab between different apps and menus, because as well all now, productivity and creativity apps such as Photoshop or After Effects have so much that is going on, that the extra space is always appreciated.
2. The Color coverage
We’ll steer away from the topic of color coverage to talk about the general qualities of the monitor. The panel has a size of 24 inches, a Full HD+ resolution, and a 75Hz refresh rate. Viewing angles are quite comfortable and the maximum brightness is decent. Now, going to the color coverage, the panel has a plethora of presets that emulate the most popular present-day color gamuts such as sRGB, Adobe RGB and DCI-P3. From the results below you can see that the panel has very high coverage of all of these gamuts.
3. The Design
In terms of the outward appearance of the Acer ConceptD CM2 (CM2241W), it is a good-looking monitor. The bezels are thin enough for 2021, with the bottom bezel being quite thicker, in order to fit the Acer logo and the LED indicator. The chassis is entirely made out of plastic, which is expected at this price range (around 400$). On the back, you get the OSD menu with dedicated buttons.
Moving over to the stand, it has a nice wooden design, which looks really good and gives it a really unique aesthetic. The stem the connects the monitor to the stand is made from metal, as it should be, considering the size and weight of the panel. There is also a plastic latch that is used for cable management, but it’s not big enough to fit all your cables.
The stand here is one of the best that we have seen, offering a vertical adjustment of 120mm. In addition to that, the panel offers a tilt of 25°, a 90° pivot on each side, and a 360° of swivel. The swivel mechanism is hidden within the base which is pretty neat.
4. The Color accuracy
The color accuracy here is very good, especially when you use our “Gaming and web design” profile. We tested the color accuracy using the 24 most commonly used colors and got a dE value of 0.9, which is professional-grade level. Below you can compare the scores of Acer ConceptD CM2 (CM2241W) with the default settings (left), and with the “Gaming and Web design” profile (right).
Buy our profiles
Since our profiles are tailored for each individual display model, this article and its respective profile package are meant for the Acer ConceptD CM2 (CM2241W).
In this case, the profiles are ready for work after a factory reset, except for the Gaming and Web design profile, where you need to set the display to the “sRGB mode”. Interestingly, depending on the ambient light and the game you’re playing it is highly possible that the Office Work profile might be more appealing than the Gaming and Web design one.

Office Work
Office Work should be used mostly by users who spend most of the time looking at pieces of text, tables or just surfing. This profile aims to deliver better distinctness and clarity by keeping a flat gamma curve (2.20), native color temperature and perceptually accurate colors.
Design and Gaming
This profile is aimed at designers who work with colors professionally, and for games and movies as well. Design and Gaming takes display panels to their limits, making them as accurate as possible in the sRGB IEC61966-2-1 standard for Web and HDTV, at white point D65.
Health-Guard
Health-Guard eliminates the harmful Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) and reduces the negative Blue Light which affects our eyes and body. Since it’s custom tailored for every panel, it manages to keep the colors perceptually accurate. Health-Guard simulates paper so the pressure on the eyes is greatly reduced.

1 reason NOT to buy the Acer ConceptD CM2 (CM2241W)
1. The I/O
The I/O here is decent, with the exception of the lack of legacy or analog ports, such as a VGA port. Most of the ports are situated on the bottom of the panel, with you getting a power plug, for which the voltage regulation happens inside the chassis, two HDMI ports, one DisplayPort, and two USB ports (one Type-B and one Type-A port). There are two additional USB Type-A ports on the side.
