The new year starts in a pretty cute fashion with so many new laptops being released that we will keep you entertained for a good number of days. We start with a truly new Predator by Acer – the Triton 900 (PT917). As suggested by the title, it is striking in two main areas – looks and power.
You can check its in-depth specs and more information here: https://laptopmedia.com/series/acer-predator-triton-900-pt917-71/
Of course, appearance is always first, chronologically speaking, when it comes to something leaving an impression. This bad boy has some crazy looking hinge called “Ezel Aero Hinge” and it is supposed to add versatility (there are four modes) and facilitate more creative tasks. We don’t have the machine yet but we can say that it looks pretty cool. Hopefully, its usability and sturdiness will be on par as well.
Performance-wise, we are looking at an Intel Core i7-8750H which is 4th in our Top Laptop CPU Ranking. What’s more interesting though is the brand new graphics card – NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 (Laptop). Furthermore, the big 17-inch 4K IPS display, which is also touch-sensitive, supports the NVIDIA G-Sync technology, and this combo is bound to leave gamers satisfied.
Additionally, the not so thick 23.8 mm chassis fits up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1000GB SSD for storage. Among the most notable connectivity options, we find 2x USB Type-C connectors (Thunderbolt 3, DisplayPort, HDMI), DisplayPort full, and more. The notebook will be available sometime in Spring and will arrive at a starting price of $3,999.
We must say that the Triton 900 is a pretty unique design and it’s hard to find competitors for it. However, ASUS ROG Mothership is a notebook that was just announced and also has screen-related peculiarities. We shall devote a publication on it too very soon.
