The Chinese website XFastest.com provided photos that compare Ryzen 7 1700X to the AMD FX processor. These images show that the heatspreader is almost identical but in the lower part we can notice much denser placement of pins.
The results below come from the following tests: 3DMark Fire Strike, Cinebench, CPUmark, as well as some screenshots from CPU-Z.
Ryzen 7 1700X has scored 17 916 in the physics test of FireStrike, at an average frame rate of 56 fps. In the CPUmark benchmark AMD’s CPU beats the Intel Core i7-5960X, which also uses 8 cores and 16 threads, scoring 583. Additionally, in Cinebench the 1700X registers 1 537 in comparison to 1 318 by i7 5960X, which now costs around $1 000. Rumor has it that Ryzen 1700X will cost around $400.
Also, CPU-Z screenshots show that AMD’s processor operates at 3.5 GHz, and their testing system’s RAM – at 2 133 MHz.
