AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 375 vs Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 – what are the differences?

Does a 5 at the end provide any meaningful change? We still don’t have an HP OmniBook to test with (the only laptop so far available with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 375), however, we can still give you a gist of what’s different between these two very similar chips. As of right now, the Ryzen AI 300 lineup has grown to feature three CPUs in total.

You can find more information about each specific CPU here: AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 375 / AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370

Specs table

Looking at the specs table, we see that most specifications of the two CPUs are identical. However, there is one thing that stands out: the Total AI Performance (aka the NPU performance). Both CPUs feature a new XDNA 2-based AI Engine, which delivers around 50 TOPS (Trillion Operations Per Second) of power.

The Ryzen AI 9 HX 375’s NPU has been specifically tuned to be offered in laptops that will want as much AI performance as possible, so if you plan on focusing mainly on Local AI models, you might want to upgrade to the HX 375. How much additional contribution will those 5 TOPS offer? The question is difficult to answer, but we’ll be adding any CPU and GPU we come by to the AI Performance Ranking, where we’ve chosen several benchmarks, including machine learning, as well as image generation.
