ASUS Shows Its Next-Gen Laptop Lineup, Boasts 32% Better CPU Performance vs Last-Gen (Full Specs and Photos)
To Go along with AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 CPU announcement, ASUS put out several new laptops under the ROG, TUF, ProArt, Vivobook, and Zenbook laptops. Today we’re going over the devices that they announced, as well as what performance gains you can expect from these new Ryzen AI CPUs, as ASUS showed off some performance graphs.
As you can see, the new processor delivers up to 32% higher score in Cinebench R23’s Multi-core benchmark, compare to the Last-Gen, tested with equal TDPs – both notebooks configured at 45W. Of course, soon we’ll test the notebooks ourselves and we’ll give you all the details.
Before we dive into the laptops themselves, let’s recap what the Ryzen AI 300-series CPUs are all about. You get more cores, with up to 12, while AMD is keeping SMT (2 threads per core), unlike Intel, which is ditching it in their Lunar Lake chips. You also get a new XDNA 2 NPU which allows the laptops to be a part of the Copilot+ PC program. These chips can also function entirely on their own without a dedicated GPU, thanks to the new RDNA 3.5 integrated graphics, which can enable both thin and light laptops as well as handhelds to do a fair bit of gaming. You can read our full coverage here.
ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16
This new Zephyrus is a lightweight 16-inch gaming laptop with a 12-core Ryzen AI 9 370 HX, which comes paired with a 50 TOPS XDNA2 NPU (more than enough for a Copilot+ PC), as well as both integrated and discrete graphics (a Radeon 890M and an RTX 4070). Cooling all of it is an ROG Intelligent Cooling System, which is probably “AI-trained” and other 2024 buzzwords. What’s a fact is that there are three fans on the inside, improved heat pipes for better heat transfer, as well as liquid metal on top of the CPU and GPU. You can get the ROG Zephyrus G16 for a starting price of $1,899.

ASUS ProArt PX16
These are born and bred Creator devices, with high-quality OLED screens as well as a fair bit of power thanks to these new AMD CPUs. These machines are sleeker than ever with a new design that has a smudge-free finish, so your laptop looks good at all times. The ProArt PX16 is the bigger of the two, with a large 16-inch 4K panel, and wide I/O with both USB Type-A and Type-C ports. These new laptops provide Wi-Fi 7 support, with faster connectivity to compensate for the lack of a LAN port. You can get the PX16 at a starting price of $1,899.

ASUS ProArt PX13
The smaller 13-inch PX13 device brings the same caliber of ports, CPUs, and GPUs, albeit with fewer total ports and lower TGPs on the graphics. The more interesting thing about it is the form factor, as this is a convertible 2-in-1 laptop/tablet hybrid. The keyboard is not removable, but you fold it to the back and forget about it. It’s not a light laptop, as the PX13 weighs 3 lbs (1.38 kg). The ProArt PX13 has a starting price of $1,699.

ASUS Zenbook S 16
The Zenbook family is the peak of ASUS’ productivity laptop lineup, providing luxurious devices backed up by a lot of performance. The S 16 has the top-tier AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, as well as the integrated Radeon 890M. The screen is stunning to look at, with a 2.8K 16:10 OLED panel. What’s super important is the dimensions of this device. Despite the 16-inch form factor, the laptop weighs only 3.3 lbs (1.50 kg). There’s USB4 support with two Type-C ports, among others, as well as an FHD IR camera with facial recognition. We can’t wait to get one of these in hand so we can test the onboard graphics, as well as the overall Copilot+ experience.

ASUS TUF Gaming A16 and TUF Gaming A14
These two laptops are quite special, as we haven’t had a 14-inch TUF laptop before. Both bring the same CPU options, while the bigger A16 has up to an RTX 4070 GPU. The TUF A14’s maxed-out config has an RTX 4060, which also comes with lower TGPs, to compensate for the smaller chassis. Both laptops have crisp IPS displays with a 16:10 aspect ratio and proper colors, so you can game and create content on them. The 14-inch model is super portable, with a weight of only 3.2 lbs (1.46 kg). Pricing is unknown as of now, however, both laptops will be available starting in July of this year.
