ASUS Vivobook 16 X1607 storms into our Battery Life Top 10 with nearly 20 hours of endurance
We just hit “Publish” on our full review of the ASUS Vivobook 16 X1607, and the Snapdragon-powered notebook has vaulted straight to No. 8 in our Top 100 Laptops with the Best Battery Life leaderboard. Its measured runtime of 19 hours and 8 minutes nudges past Lenovo’s ThinkPad X1 Carbon and bumps Apple’s 13-inch MacBook Pro out of the coveted Top 10.
Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon X (X1-26-100) squeezes almost 20 hours from a 50 Wh pack, the best we’ve seen from any 16-inch ARM-based Windows laptop.
The big catch
Incredible stamina comes at a cost. The IPS panel covers just 55 % of sRGB and has sluggish response times, ruling it out for color-critical work or fast-paced gaming. Soldered RAM and a few ARM software quirks are other pain points to keep in mind.
