ASUS ZenBook Pro UX501 is already on the market – it looks like a high-priced stylish version of ROG G501
About ten days ago ASUS announced a new laptop named ZenBook Pro UX501, and now you can find it on the market. Currently, the UX501 can be found in the Czech store czc.cz, so this probably means that we can expect it in other marketplaces soon. In addition, we also know its price. It costs 49 999 Czech koruny, which is equivalent to 1828 euro. Does that remind you of anything? Of course, we are referring to ASUS ROG G501.
The typical for the ROG series red-black color combo is nowhere to be seen, but it is still basically the same, as you can see in the specs sheet below. Same screen, performance etc. If you are not a gamer and prefer the ZenBook design, but also want a known high-end G501 configuration, the ZenBook Pro UX501 will probably be a great choice. Sleek and silver, it looks stylish.
ZenBook Pro UX501 has an aluminum body with metal finish and is 20.6mm thick. When it comes to hardware, the new laptop features a powerful quad-core Intel Core i7-4720HQ processor, 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M GPU, which brings great graphics performance. You can find more information and tests on the latter here. ASUS claims that UX501 has an ultra-wide color gamut of 72% NTSC, 74% Adobe RGB and 100% sRGB. There is also an Eye Care mode, which reduces the blue light and protects your eyes.

Will the UX501 also come with a IPS Full HD version? Otherwise, the g501 will still be prefered by gamers, despite the less elegant chassis
We don’t have any information about an FHD version of the UX501, but it’s very likely that ASUS haven’t planned one, given the description in the (leaked?) official page, which is now taken down:

Isn’t 1820 too much for a re-branded 860m? There are other laptops with same components but less expansive. It’s for the fast ssd? 4k display?
Yes, ReVo, the PCIe-based SSD definitely raises the price a lot. When we come across cheaper configurations, we’re going to share them with you.
Well, my biggest problem would be to pay too much for something which is not worth the money. I’m wrong or the ROG G501, which has the same configuration, will cost less? (but, well the UX501 loooooks much better than the gaming one)

Ok, I did. I should admit that this site is amazing, I spent days searching for some information about this laptop and noone posted anything.
I hope to see a non-touch version of the UX501 (Yep, I don’t like touchscreen laptops), maybe it will be cheaper than this one.
My hype for this laptop is very high, it looks fantastic and seems like it will be very powerful. Hope it will be available in the first week / second week of April. I need a laptop, and I want this one 🙂

1TB HD
8GB Ram
NVIDIA GTX 970m 2GB
FHD 1920×1080
with 1299€
960m* my bad, sorry.
Hey, could you tell me which version of the UX501 this is? (exact number for 4K, 512SSD and 960m 4gb), because i am having some trouble finding it 😉
Hello!
Does the Asus UX501 just like the Asus G501 also use PWM causing screen flickering?
