First Benchmarks: The New Intel Lunar Lake CPUs Beat Snapdragon X Elite in Single-Core Performance
A few months away from the supposed September launch of Lunar Lake, we’ve got a first look at what these new chips can offer in terms of performance. The Intel Core Ultra 7 268V is on the higher end of the new Lunar Lake family, so this is about as much power as you can expect from these Lunar Lake chips. Still, keep in mind that these scores aren’t official, so the situation might look entirely different once we have a Lunar Lake laptop in our hands.

CPU Benchmarks
It certainly looks like AMD is outworking Intel when it comes to the Multi-core results, which are important for handling complex and demanding tasks like video editing, simulations, and CAD work. Not only that, but the M4 and the X Elite are outperforming it too. The lack of Hyperthreading seems to be a bit more important than simply having 8 single-threaded cores (split into a 4 +4 configuration, though). Intel has made a big jump in their E-cores, as the new Skymont architecture is a lot more powerful, something we’ve highlighted here.
On the other hand, the Core Ultra 7 is able to provide a decent chunk of Single-core performance, performing better than the Ryzen AI 9 and the X Elite. Still, the Apple M4 is king with a mind-boggling result. A high score in this metric is important for overall OS stability and responsiveness, as not all cores work at all times and sometimes one or two are called up to handle a specific task.
