HP Envy x360 15 Has a Hidden Color Potential, We’ve Improved its Accuracy 6 Times!
When it comes to choosing a laptop, one of the key factors to consider is its display quality. This is especially important for professionals who rely on their laptop’s display for their work but even if you’re not a designer, you wouldn’t want to buy new jeans and receive them in a much different color than expected, right?
DeltaE is the metric for the difference between the real colors and the ones you see on your display. Values below 2.0 are considered suitable for professional work with colors, and values below 1.0 are indistinguishable to the naked eye.
Our retail unit of HP Envy x360 15 (15-fe0000) arrived with a DeltaE score of 4.9. In other words – all colors are very far from the real ones. Check the first graph below. The height of each bar shows the difference in its color from the real one.
Now check the second graph. That’s the result of our calibration. The DeltaE score goes below 1.0, SIX TIMES lower compared to the factory state! The big surprise here – turns out that the HP Envy x360 15 has a great display panel (made by LG), and its a good choice for professional design work!

Office Work
Office Work should be used mostly by users who spend most of the time looking at pieces of text, tables or just surfing. This profile aims to deliver better distinctness and clarity by keeping a flat gamma curve (2.20), native color temperature and perceptually accurate colors.
Design and Gaming
This profile is aimed at designers who work with colors professionally, and for games and movies as well. Design and Gaming takes display panels to their limits, making them as accurate as possible in the sRGB IEC61966-2-1 standard for Web and HDTV, at white point D65.
Health-Guard
Health-Guard eliminates the harmful Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) and reduces the negative Blue Light which affects our eyes and body. Since it’s custom tailored for every panel, it manages to keep the colors perceptually accurate. Health-Guard simulates paper so the pressure on the eyes is greatly reduced.
