Lenovo is releasing a software update to address the P70 issues
After we received a number of complaints with regard to the Lenovo P70, our team personally contacted Lenovo to find out what they have to say about the issue. A couple of days ago, we informed you that the company considers the problem to be a matter of software and an update is being prepared to resolve the trouble.
Just minutes ago we heard from Lenovo, and there is good news for all P70 owners. The company apologizes for the signal loss and dropped calls, but highlights the fact that a new update has indeed been created to address the matter, and it will officially be released on Monday, March 16. They are delaying the release with a few days to conduct tests.
We still have our P70 test unit, so we’ll be waiting for the update and will, of course, share whether the problem is gone or if there are any changes in general. For the time being, feel free to comment and mention any additional problems, so that we could check them out.

I appreciate your efforts to complaining to lenovo, hopefully the update resolve the issue, because currently I have a pre-order this P70.
I just got my P70 last saturday.
And it’s true i have problems with 3G / H+ connection problems, i already check the update, from the screen it’s said : Your system is the latest version.
When i do browsing internet, the connection is very bad.
But somehow it’s quite strange that when i use P70 as hotspot and i use another mobile phone using the hotspot from P70 – the speed is very good upto 1Mbps
So strange that browsing through another mobile phone is much faster than from P70 it self.
Please advise
My lenovo p70a phone keeps hanging when i press contacts. After a call when i make the next call it takes so long to get to the contact . It’s so slow to respond and it’s downright frustrating. Why is the lenovo quality so poor? Unbelievable we get such lousy phone.
Battery issue, not long as advertised 4000mah
Agreed. Possibly due to the dual sim or MTK chip set as opposed to my snapdragon 801 before on my Sony z1 compact. It helped quitw a bit when i switched to “only WCDMA” mode as opposed to 4G/WCDMA/EDGE option.
And screen brightness is way to bright, mine’s set to minimum most of the time.
I also own the p70 and i have to say, the battery comes close to the battery of my previous phone (lumia 640 dual sim), and that phone had a 2500 or so mAh battery. indeed you have to take in consideration the mediatek chip AND the OCTA core 1.7 cpu witch are the main power issues. MTK chips don’t come near close to the snapdragon’s power efficiency. Imagine this phone with 2 gb ram, octa core mtk chip with only 2500 battery.
I don’t get good perfomes .on gets sandreas its lags ..and heating .battery no4000 may .I have getting only 11 hours plz help .and plz release lolipop update plzz
update what is released today, is fixing only bad translation on some local versions (SK).
in changes are problems with 3G even not mentioned, and not fixed at all.
i strongly urge lenovo company to launch p70 in india as soon as possibl, hoe as it is much awaited phone ,hope u understand
When will p70 be launched in India??
Hi, i have this overheating problem with my P70 especially if I’m playing online games like clash of clans etc. It’s like around above 50°C and can’t bear to hold it more any longer that I have to close the app. Do you guys experiencing this too? Any suggestions to prevent this heating problem is really appreciated. Thanks.
i have the same problem, and it might be because of this problem that the battery is draibibg faster also.
The update doesnt work. I bought this phone last week and it was a great disappointment when I started using it.3G does not work, camera quality is like 2 mp, battery is falsely advertised at 4000mah. Doesn’t even stand 1 day of moderate usage. Lenovo support is non cooperative they push me towards the retailer who is certainly not at fault. These are known issues and Im wondering how could they launch this phone without testing. I installed the update as guided but there is no difference.

I just updated my P70 with latest firmware which was launched last week & there is outgoing issue,

i think firmware update make mu phone useless.. no recovery…. i just can on or off ,my phone….
for me the big problem is the speaker only 1 is working the other 1 is totally dead.
Totally waste of money, camera is horrible, battery does not seem to be as 4000mph
camera is horrible, i had a chinese phone before it had 8MP camera that was way better. i checked the resolution by installing google camera app and it shows 480P video recording from primary 13MP camera.it is software issuse ?

Dont buy this phone. Cam is ridiculous. Battery is averafe. 3g still gives problens. Checkout at any store for urself. U can take a pic and try to zoom.
Pls do not buy this phone (P70) battery backup is horrible and its misleading the consumer that they advertise that 4000mah and Li-Poly, thats not.. its Li-Ion..Pls do not buy P70 or better try other than Lenovo
