Lenovo Legion Pro 7i’s Display Reaches “Perfect” Colors Using Our Display Profiles
When Lenovo put the Pro monicker on the Legion Pro 7i, they weren’t kidding, as the performance and more importantly the display that the Pro 7i offers is one of the best that you can get.
We’ll show you exactly why that is, but all you need to know is that this laptop is perfect for both gamers, as well as Creators who handle special effects, video editing, compositing, rendering, and every other task that might require tons of power and a crisp and color-accurate screen.
Lenovo Legion Pro 7i (16″, Gen 9): Full Specs / In-depth Review
Display quality
To start off, the Legion Pro 7i covers the entire sRGB and 99% of the DCI-P3 gamuts. You can learn more about the color gamuts and what they represent in the Display section of our review.
Now we get to the real interesting part, the color accuracy. This is represented in Delta E. This is the difference between the colors of the display and the real ones. With the factory condition, the Legion Pro 7i gets a dE of 3.3. Once we apply our Web Design and Office Work profile, the dE goes down to 1.0, which is ideal. Well, not really, as mathematically perfect would mean a dE of 0. However, the human eye can’t distinguish values below 1.0, so this is as good as it gets as far as humans and their relation to colors are concerned.

In addition to receiving efficient and health-friendly profiles, by buying LaptopMedia's products you also support the development of our labs, where we test devices in order to produce the most objective reviews possible.
Office Work
Office Work should be used mostly by users who spend most of the time looking at pieces of text, tables or just surfing. This profile aims to deliver better distinctness and clarity by keeping a flat gamma curve (2.20), native color temperature and perceptually accurate colors.
Design and Gaming
This profile is aimed at designers who work with colors professionally, and for games and movies as well. Design and Gaming takes display panels to their limits, making them as accurate as possible in the sRGB IEC61966-2-1 standard for Web and HDTV, at white point D65.
Health-Guard
Health-Guard eliminates the harmful Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) and reduces the negative Blue Light which affects our eyes and body. Since it’s custom tailored for every panel, it manages to keep the colors perceptually accurate. Health-Guard simulates paper so the pressure on the eyes is greatly reduced.
