Lenovo LOQ 16 with Ryzen 5 7640HS and RTX 4050: This Week’s Top Gaming Laptop for Price/Performance
Need a Gaming/Productivity laptop on a budget? Lenovo might have a decent answer for you, with its LOQ 16 laptop, which currently sits at the #1 spot in our Top 100 Best Gaming Laptop Deals (Price/Performance) Ranking. It does so with a configuration that’s not on the high-end, with a Ryzen 5 and an RTX 4050. The LOQ 16 has a taller display, which gives you more pixels while not increasing the size by much, if at all when compared to the 15-inch LOQ models.

The Ryzen 5 7640HS processor brings 6 cores and 12 threads, which can boost as high as 5.00 GHz. While the core count might feel low, the processor is still very good for handling games and productivity apps (if you want to code, video, or photo edit). The 95W RTX 4050 GPU paired with the Full HD+ display is a great combo. The panel comes with a 144Hz refresh rate and G-Sync, so the display is both smooth and responsive. The configuration is rounded out with a 512GB SSD and 16GB of DDR5 memory.
You can check out our full playlist of games tested on the RTX 4050 on our LaptopMedia Benchmarks channel, which can tell you a better story of how the GPU performs. However, our benchmarks test the 45W version, so the 95W should be a fair bit more powerful. Essentially, you can play most games at Full HD without a problem with high fps and high settings, or switch to 1440p with lower settings.
