Top-shelf specs and Thunderbolt 3.1

Lenovo ThinkPad P50 is an extremely powerful notebook that boasts top-shelf hardware. Among the specs we see an Intel Core i7-6820HQ CPU (4-cores, 2.70 – 3.60 GHz, 8MB cache), NVIDIA Quadro M2000M (4GB GDDR5) GPU, up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM and a 512GB SSD.

The machine also has a Thunderbolt 3.1 port that offers twice as fast data transfer speeds than a regular USB 3.0 port (up to 10 Gbps). ThinkPad P50 supports multiple screens and fast charging. You’ll also find four USB 3.0 ports, a Mini DisplayPort 1.2, one HDMI 1.4 port, ExpressCard 4-in-1 SD card reader, and a fingerprint scanner.

4К IPS screen and 6-cell battery

ThinkPad P50 has a 15.6-inch 4K display (3840 x 2160) with pixel density of around 282 ppi. The IPS panel provides bright and vivid colors as well as wide viewing angles (180 degrees). Thanks to the X-Rite PANTONE calibrator you get very accurate colors and that’s a huge deal for people with color-sensitive work.

The notebook has a 6-cell battery, which according to the manufacturer should be able to provide up to 6 hours of battery life in the MobileMark 2014 test, even though it has to power the extremely powerful hardware and an UHD screen.

Comfortable keyboard and high-quality sound

Lenovo usually pays extra attention to the keyboards of their notebooks and ThinkPad P50 is no exception. It offers a full-sized keyboard with specially optimized for Windows multimedia buttons. There’s also an improved LED backlight, so you won’t have trouble working in low light conditions. The notebook has a comfortable to use, big TrackPoint touchpad.

You can also enjoy a powerful and high-quality sound without any distortions, thanks to the Dolby Home Theater technology.

There’s also a unique cooling system that will keep temperatures low and won’t cause any discomfort due to overheating.
