Meizu announces Pro 6 Plus and MX3 – specs and prices

Meizu announced two new smartphones using the new Flyme 6.0 UI – the Pro 6 Plus and MX3. The former is the more premium of the two and its specs are quite similar to those of Samsung Galaxy S7. It comes with a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display (2560 x 1440 pixels) and an Always On function. Additionally, it sports the 3D Press technology which resembles Apple’s 3D Touch. As far as performance is concerned, there is the Exynos 8890 mobile processor accompanied by 4GB of RAM. And storage-wise, you can choose between 64GB and 128GB.

Meizu Pro 6 Plus has a 12MP main camera with a Sony IMX386 sensor. The camera has an f/2.0 aperture value, optical image stabilization, laser autofocus and a circle of ten small LED flashes. On the front, selfie fans will find a 5MP camera again with an f/2.0 aperture. The specs sheet goes on with a super fast fingerprint scanner which has an integrated heartbeat monitor. Additionally, the phone boasts a 3400mAh battery which is charged via a USB Type-C port. What’s more, this component has been fitted in a metal body only 7.3mm thick.

Prices start from 3000 Chinese yuan which is approximately equal to $430.

Meizu MX3 is more affordable and also deserves our attention. It features a MediaTek Helio P20 mobile processor accompanied by 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, respectively. Meizu MX3’s display is 5.50-inch and its resolution – Full HD.

Also present is a 12MP camera with Sony IMX386 sensor. MX3’s battery is 3200mAh and it also supports the Quick Charge 3.0 technology for faster charging. The phone also holds a USB Type-C port and a fingerprint scanner.

Meizu MX3 will sell for 1700 yuan (around $240) for the 3GB RAM version and 2000 yuan ($290) for the 4GB RAM variant.
