MSI GE63VR 7RF Raider’s screen uses PWM under 28% brightness

The tests we conducted on the MSI GE63VR 7RF Raider show some good and some bad news. What you may find rather disturbing is that the panel uses PWM from 0 to 28% brightness, but here comes the good news – the display flickers at high frequencies (26 kHz) making it comfortable for continuous work as it doesn’t particularly affect one’s eyesight in that aspect.

In other words, the screen flickers only up to 95 nits of luminance and this will affect only buyers with extra sensitive eyes. However, if this is an issue for you, we recommend installing our Health-Guard profile, which eliminates PWM and also reduces the negative blue light emissions.

Still, if the MSI GE63VR 7RF Raider is not right up your street, we suggest browsing our PWM ranking for laptops with similar or better PWM rating.
